Most of us love to carry around babies that are cute and chubby. In fact we love having children who are healthy and plump. The actual objective is to stay healthy without obesity. This is the largest problem faced by individuals today. Children between the ages of 6-18 have been facing this issue.
             
Obesity is synonymous to health hazards. There was a time when doctors suggested that you should weigh proportional to how tall you are, which means that your height would determine what you should weigh. But now there is something called the Body Mass Index that is being used to measure the ideal weight of a person. This is abbreviated as BMI in medical terminologies.
 
There are various reasons that can breed obesity. The most commonly believed fact is that of heredity. If you have parents that are obese you are likely to be obese as well. This is however a debatable point. A few health professionals believe that attitude is what matters and not heredity at all. However this should not be an excuse, you can always be thinner than the older generation.

There are even more common reasons causing obesity. This is a sedentary lifestyle. People who stay glued to the television and binge on fatty food like chips and fries are obviously prone to obesity. If you are not exercising much, then you should consider burning those extra calories which will make you slimmer in no time. People say that you could use so many alternative methods of exercising to keep your regimen blissful. This could be yoga, aerobics, floor exercises, hitting the gym, taking a swim, cycling, climbing stairs, etc.
 
A few medications have been proven to raise your weight; this could be a long term course of steroids. If you are particular about keeping a tab on your weight, you should inform your doctor before you are being prescribed any medicine.
 
There are various ways in which obesity can be treated. The best and most trusted way is to exercise enough. A few doctors prescribe medicines that work as appetite suppressants. This however has been proved to be hazardous to your health. The natural way to deal with obesity is to keep away from high calorie foods and maintain a low fat diet.

There are various products that are available in the market to help weight management. Anything we eat, such as biscuits, chocolates, drinks, breads, we can always find something light and healthy.

Staying healthy and fit is so important. If we do not heed to the requirements of our body who will?

Exercising is so much fun when working out with a group of friends. Dancing with a partner will not only nurture a healthy relationship but also a healthy you. Dancing is a great workout and helps you burn those extra calories. Another great exercise is swimming that burns those extra fat in you, enabling you to stay fitter and stronger. If properly followed, it is the best way for staying healthy.
